The Bethel Police Department announced this week that they have sworn in their newest officer, Nicholas Silva, who is heading to the Police Academy for a six-month stint to hone his skills.
His training expected to include more than 850 hours of classroom and practical instruction, along with physical fitness conditioning to prepare the officers to perform the many duties of a police officer in today’s communities.
Following his tenure at the Police Academy, Silva is scheduled to return home to Bethel, where he will complete his field training before joining the force full-time.
